Lockett piano, keyboards | This
duo of electric cello and electric piano got together in 2005 through mutual interest
in eclecticism, inauthentic performance and the possibilities of contemporary
music technology - modern electric instruments have become expressive and responsive,
so why not use them for concert music performance? Core repertoire currently includes
major works by Astor Piazzolla, Delius, Faure, Stravinsky, Arvo Pärt and arrangements
of Satie, Antonio Soler and Couperin. They also play their own music, some of
which is written specifically for large resonant spaces such as churches. They've
also played improvised music for the ZieuMZic festivals and 'dinner jazz' often
with the singer Deb Swallow. Originally from Chicago, Stan played with punk rock
bands in New York, and has worked with Lydia Lunch, Madonna and Brian Eno. Before
moving to the Aude he lived for 12 years in London playing regularly with Mike
Westbrook, Arthur Brown, Carol Grimes, Jon Lloyd and others.
